Active Rain Meetup in DC was one You Should Have Attended.!

We are very fortunate as we can fly standby to many places as long as we can get there and back in the time allotted. We were successfully able to go to Washington DC and attend the DC Active Rain Meetup. Pat Kennedy held the Meetup at her home and several AR members attended. The Co-Hosts ( we use to say Co chairpersons) were Pat of course , Cindy Jones and Roy Kelley. Roy had asked my wife Yolanda about attending this meetup and she loves to travel and decided this was a great idea.

We have been very lucky in the past  to have meet several AR members either at Meetups or by visiting them when we were in town. This meeting was really nice and very interesting for me to hear about the major differences in the Real Estate business between the East Coast and Texas. The cab driver got lost trying to find Pat’s home which was amazing in of itself.

We all got to meet Willie the  Labradoodle and Pat’s Cat ( I do not remember the Cat’s name) plus all the AR members who attended.. Pat’s home was maybe 10 minutes away from the Grand Hyatt where we stayed. As I said in a comment on my own blog last night, we leveraged the AR Meetup into an opportunity to make a mini vacation out of the DC trip. The Cherry Blossoms were gorgeous and anyone who has not seen these needs to go if they can swing it.

We were fortunate enough to do several other things during our short trip. We even saw a large motor caravan consisting of numerous motorcycle riding police,  secret service agents and numerous others  go past us heading to a museum. We mentioned this to our private car driver and he said it was not the President since we did not see a helicopter above and a SUV with AK 47’s sticking out of the trunk! We believe it was probably VP Joe Biden. I hope I can write some other blogs about the interesting things we saw and learned on our trip plus the food we ate.

I would have loved to be at that event!  You're lucky!  It looks like there were quite a few famous "AR" folks there all of whom I'd like to meet in person.

It was great to see you at the DC meet up.  I am glad that you and Yolanda were able to attend.  There should be a special award for the longest distance traveled to a meet up.
