Another Southington CT Home Sold

Southington CT Real estate

This Classic Southington CT Colonial, built in 1834 was not a home that would be for just any buyer. This had to be purchased by someone that could appreciate the character of this older home, and not be looking for the amenities and conveniences that are had with its 21 Century counterparts.

This home featured a front and back parlor and a library, and a formal dining room, all with working fireplaces; country kitchen with an eat-in area also had its own fireplace.

The second floor was a sleeping area with 5 bedrooms; front and rear staircase, and the main bath.
The mechanicals of the home had been updated, as was the newer roof.

This home will need some cosmetic work, after all plaster doesn’t stay as perfect as wallboard, but the new owners of this Classic Historical registered Colonial want to enjoy the home as much as the previous owners did for the 63 years they were there.

This transaction, with special considerations took 140 days from date of listing to reach the closing table. Inspections completed and no surprises for the buyers except for the 2-seater extra ‘facility’.

Thanks Andrew, it's always a good thing when the homes turn over quickly.

David, those walls had to have a big history as it was the main house for a 300 acre farm

Congratulations Ed and to the buyer and seller! You're right this type of home is not for everyone but your marketing and promotion found the perfect buyer who saw the value and will appreciate this home.

Congratulations Ed!  Some of the most beautiful houses I've seen have been refurbished historical Victorians and colonials.  You don't find the custom detailed word-work like that in new houses.  There are quite a few people out there that love the challenge of restoring!
