Internet Access Drives Me Nutty!

I have Brighthouse for cable and CenturyLink DSL for Internet.  I'm in Longwood, FL.

Brighthouse for Internet does not work at my house because I'm the last house on the line.  They've tried several times over the years and it's just not a good set up.

CenturyLink DSL used to be terrific but the last six months I have had far too many outages.  I was out from Sunday morning until a little while ago.  They seem to think it's on my end but we have three computers, all with different operating systems and wiring.  Twice this year their tech told me things were perfect.  The last time, ten minutes after he left, I had no phone or Internet for two days.

I live in an older home.  Both companies have trucks in my neighborhood every single day.  In fact, Brighthouse told me during a cable issue that four houses on my block have the same issue.  I told him there were only four houses on my street!  100% failure rate!

Anyone nearby have any recommendations?

Dee -- don't you love that the tech told you four houses on your street experienced the same issue -- and there are only four houses on your street -- YIKES!    Aren't there any other alternatives???

I just laughed when he said that.  The issiue is, there is one cable company and several satelitte companies.  Our cable company provides service without boxes unles you wnat high def.  We have that on one tv the cost to have it on all is unreal.  The others require boxes.  At $11per month per TV, it gets pricey.  Cost wise, Brighthouse is the best.  No one can beat that.  But with us all watching different channels, we'd double our bill with boxes if we used another vendor.  I have solicited neighbors with complaints and have approached is as they are not providing what I pay for and I can take all complaints to the FCC and State of Florida.  Twitter has been my best friend in getting a better response.

Based on your comments, you must not have Comcast or Verizon in your area.  They are strong in our market.

Dee can you get Verizon FIOS? Much better everything anyway. We have it here and I've had it since it started years ago.

We don't have Comcast or Verizon for Cable or Phone here.  Verizon for cell phone coverage rocks!  I love it.

I don't know abut Verizon FIOS but can check into it.  Thanks for the heads up!

Dee, I hope you find a good solution rather than excuses to keep you in business!

Wanda, I always find solutions.  I don't believe I stated this as an excuse.

Dee~ It's awful to be "disconnected" in our business. I hope one of these companies can make some improvements soon so that you have consistent connectivity.
