That laptop sticker did it again!
This is a good marketing idea that we all can learn from and Debbie Gartner of White Plains, NY. As a Broker/ coach I showed this to several agents today and suggested that as much time as they spend at Starbucks and eateries on their laptops that this would be perfect
As some of you know, one of my smartest marketing investments was a sticker for my laptop. It costs a whopping $15. It is essentially a billboard that helps me advertise without me having to try. (see picture to the right...yes, that's the sticker).
I often hangout in Starbucks in between appointments. It's a great way for me to catch up on estimates and get online. And, yes, I do get leads from this and often, it's a great conversation starter. People will walk up to me and ask me about it - sometimes because they need flooring, and sometimes just because they like the marketing idea (and want to see how they can do it...and yes, some of this has led to some great networking opportunities.
Well today, much to my surprise, one of my favorite real estate agents popped in. I was on the phone and stunned. She asked me to stop by when I finished (her office is across the street in Chappaqua). I hadn't seen her for several months.
She told me how happy her mom is with the carpets and she loves them too, and what a world of difference. They were installed about a year ago and she is still thrilled. It was great to hear that!
I was still puzzled though how this happened...since she wasn't getting coffee. Well it turns out that the office manager had walked by the Starbucks window and saw me with the laptop sticker and loved the marketing idea. She then recognized me (since I had presented to the office) and mentioned it to this agent. It was super cool.
But, even cooler than that...the agent is having a phenomenal year...even better than her career best year last year, and as it turns out, she has 3 new buyers about to buy, and they probably need flooring! Sweet! Oh, and she might write me an online review as well. Double Sweet.
Oh, BTW, anyone can do this. If you have the graphics or logo, just have a local printer print this for you. It's pretty easy. I got mine from www.VehicleWraps.ca, but I'm sure you can get this done at any local printer or vehicle wrap place or sign place.
