Gaithersburg Book Festival, Saturday, May 18
The fourth annual Gaithersburg Book Festival will be held this Saturday, May 18, 2013. The location of the event is the grounds of the Gaithersburg City Hall at 31 South Summit Avenue and the hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
The festival attracted 17,000 visitors in 2012 and attendance is expected to grow to 20,000 this year. According to an article in The Gaithersburg Gazette, the festival was modeled after the Library of Congress National Book Festival that is held each fall on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
About 100 authors are expected to attend the event and many of them will be offering their books for sale. Free parking and a shuttle will be provided from Lakeforest Mall to the festival. For more information, visit the website at www.gaithersburgbookfestival.org
