On a recent trip to Littleton Co, we passed through a lot of small towns.
There were many long expanses of highway with few comfort stations along the way.
On one of our enforced stops, I found a note posted above the toilet.
It read something like this:
Dear Patron
Thank you for your support of this business.
We maintain this facility for your use and have invested plenty so you can use it in comfort.
Please consider the following expenses we have had.
1. Drilling the well. ($7,500)
2. Getting the septic permits , and having it pumped as needed.
3. Building the facility
4. Ongoing taxes on the property
5. Maintaining the cleanliness
6. Providing toilet paper, soap and towels
Wow! How enlightening that was!
As travelers we all need to consider those things when we exercise our flushing privileges!
