Welcome to DC - we may not be the food capital of the world like New York or the ethnic food capital like Chicago - but we love our food and we have great restaurants and chefs! Sometimes though haute cuisine is not what you are looking for - sometimes you just want steady, old fashioned good food! Sometimes you want fried chicken and yummy green beans or macaroni and cheese!  No matter where you are moving from, chances are we have a good piece of fried chicken for you! After all there is more to moving than just finding the perfect home or school district.

PEARL DIVE OYSTER PALACE  Pearl Dive Oyster Palace is the newest restaurant in the Black Restaurant Group.  This is another seafood restaurant, focusing on oysters with a touch of southern hospitality in DC’s Logan Circle Neighborhood. Even so, the restaurant offers a six piece bucket of takeout Southern fried chicken for $20.00.  The tub is filled with Amish chicken, scallion-flecked corn muffins, and sides of spicy slaw and braised greens.

BonChon  Not all fried chicken is Southern fried chicken! There is a franchise restaurant for Korean fried chicken in Rockville, BonChon, which offers soy garlic glazed chicken or a spicy version of chicken. BonChon is a Korean word that means "original village" and their chicken is original too! And Delicious! For $12, you get an eight piece mix of wings and drumsticks.  In addition to the chicken, you can also get traditional Asian foods like edamame, pot stickers, chicken katsu, and shrimp shumai.

Levi's Port Cafe Of course we have traditional Southern fried chicken in Washington - and if you need some SWEET TEA- we have that too.  Don't miss Levi's Port Cafe which provides a home cooked meal of fried chcken, mac and cheese, and perfectly cooked green beans! Levi's Port Cafe has a nautical theme - despite its North Carolina roots - because it is very close to the Washington Navy Yard.  I love Levi's because it also offers North Carolina barbecue sandwiches, fried cat fish, ribs, potato salad and sweet potato pie.

If you are moving to the DC Metro area, to Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Montgomery County, Northern Virginia, or Washington, DC, then I am the Realtor for you. The Lise Howe Group can show you homes in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.  Put us to work for you! And we are never too busy for your referrals!

I have been craving fried chicken since last evening, at meal time.  I refrained and ate more healthy, but once in awhile, there's nothing like a good fried chicken drumstick!
