This past week the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver released their news report on the past month of May. A couple points from the article I thought worth pointing out; The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) reports that residential property sales in Greater Vancouver reached 2,882 on the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) in May 2013. This represents a one per cent increase compared to the 2,853 sales recorded in May 2012, and a 9.7 per cent increase compared to the 2,627 sales in April 2013. As well the REBGV president said “We’ve seen some steadying trends over the last three months. The number of homes listed for sale has been keeping pace with the number of property sales, leading to a balanced sales-to-listings ratio. This is having a stabilizing influence on home price activity.” To view the full news release from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver please visit the board’s website.

Many of you have recently received your property tax information in the mail, do not forget to return the home owner grant (or with most municipalities you are now able to claim it online) before the deadline.

It’s that time of year again where local farmers markets are popping up everywhere. If you like to frequent them for local produce or musicians that are often at most here is a list of a few in the Tri-City area:

  • Port Coquitlam Farmers Market (2253 Leigh Square, Port Coquitlam) – Thursdays 3pm-7pm
  • Port Moody Farmers Market (300 Ioco Rd, Port Moody) – Fridays 3pm-7pm
  • Haney Farmers Market (Memorial Place Park on 224th, Maple Ridge) – Saturdays 9am-2pm
  • Poirier Street Farmers Market (624 Poirier St, Coquitlam) – Sundays 9am-1pm

On a final note don’t forget next Sunday is Father’s day, be sure to take a moment to appreciate your dad and let him know how much you care about him! I hope to spend some time out in the water diving!

Have a great weekend!
