Celebrate 4th Of July In The Hudson Valley
UPdated Fireworks Schedule for 2016
July 4th is fast approaching, and Newburgh NY is getting ready to celebrate with a fantastic fireworks show over the Hudson River. If you missed last year’s celebration at the Newburgh Waterfront, you are in for a treat! The fireworks are launched off a barge on the river for a truly phenomenal show. Arrive early to enjoy art, music, and local food before the fireworks begin after dark. Locals often treat themselves to an Independence Day dinner at one of the many delicious waterfront restaurants. Time it right and you can watch the fireworks show from your table!
Schedule of Events for July 4th 2013
12pm-6pm Art Show at UNICO Park (Newburgh Waterfront)
6pm-9pm Music by Dr. Magkneetoe

Want to Try Something Different This Year?
- Washington’s Headquarters is offering FREE admission and tours all day on July 4th to celebrate Independence Day AND their 163rd birthday! Tours run every half hour from 10:30-4:30. What better way to celebrate American Independence than by learning about this crucial piece of Revolutionary history? Bonus: The Headquarters’ lawn is a excellent spot to view the fireworks!
- See the fireworks show from a new perspective aboard a Hudson River fireworks cruise. Hudson Valley Adventures offers a two-hour July 4th “cruise to nowhere” aboard the Pride of the Hudsonthat is a unique, family-friendly way to enjoy the show. The ship departs at 8pm from the Newburgh Landing at Front Street. They also offer a separate cruise from Newburgh to view theWest Point fireworks on July 6th. Tickets are $30/person ($25 kids).
- Just a short drive from Newburgh, you can enjoy a “Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular” from the Walkway Over the Hudson. Tickets for access to the Walkway are $10, and it opens at 6:30pm to give everyone time to find a viewing spot and enjoy a picnic dinner before the show begins. The Walkway can be accessed from Highland or across the river in Poughkeepsie NY.
If you are like me you won’t want to miss the celebration. MY goal this year is to try out some new video and see what I can publish after that. I am hoping to capture a bit of the celebration. Fireworks were always a part of my childhood and I still enjoy them. Our beautiful Newburgh Waterfront is the perfect location to sit back, relax and enjoy. I do hear that our weather forecast is going to cooperate. Although we can’t do much about the weather, a celebration of our great country is still in order. Happy 4th of July to all.
