DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKED?

By
Real Estate Agent with Austin Texas Homes

Seeking approval is a high priority for many people. We want to be "Liked". Facebook has taken advantage of this drive in humanity to be "liked". We have been given a shortcut from comments on the statements of our friends, all we need to do is touch the thumbs up with our cursor and TA DA! We have just "liked" your post and thereby made you feel a bit more "Liked" in the world.

Nothing really wrong with being "liked" until you determine to live your life to be "liked". Why is that a problem? People pleasing is an impossible way to live. If you please one group you will offend another. Ultimately we have to make a life decision: DO WE WANT TO BE "LIKED" or "RESPECTED". We wil not always be able to get both.

So if you had a choice would you rather be Liked or respected? There will be many times in life when you will have to make that choice. Someone can dislike you but respect you. They may never want to be friends with you but they can observe in you the quailties of character that lead them to respect you and follow you when you lead.

Good point Allan.... what if we want both? I guess we can't have our cake and eat it too!

Not everyone likes me, but I am respected. I am good with who I am...  LOL!
