Alan Gross of Bethesda shared this fantastic video early this week, and it's probably the most powerful motivational video I've seen in a while. Not only is the host captivating, her suggestions for improving your follow through in business are great. 

She starts by saying that follow through on creative projects is hard, and that we have to get over the mis-belief that it's going to be exciting and fun all the time. Then she tells watchers to 'start with their little balls,' by which she means to do the small things first and the bigger things will follow. All good advice for those of us who start things but lack the follow through.

In business many of us don't Follow Through with our clients and prospects.

That's why I've developed a program I call Appreciation Marketing. There are a number of aspects to Appreciation Marketing including sending cards. Dr. Ivan Misner, the Founder & Chairman of BNI, the world's largest business networking organization, wrote a blog post titled "Send a Thank-You Card."

Dr Misner wrote “A simple thank-you card may not sound like going the extra mile. To many people, however, it truly is. The old-fashioned, personalized, handwritten thank-you card has been largely replaced by e-mail. When was the last time you received a traditional, handwritten thank-you card? What was your reaction? If you’re typical, you were pleasantly surprised, and you appreciated the sender’s time and effort.”
