It's never too late to start going "Green!"

When going green it's important to remember the 3 'R's: reduce, reuse and recycle. By following these 3 steps you can have a sustainable future. I'm amazed at how easy it actually is to fit the 3 R's into our busy lifestyles. Who knew that by regularly fitting this into your lifestyle could make such a big difference.

It's not all about who's to blame for all the environmental damages and dilemmas that we've found ourselves in. No need to waste time blaming ourselves or putting fault of a natural cycle waiting to play itself out. What we need to focus on is what we CAN do from here to ensure that life on our plant is sustained.

I'm pretty sure something we can ALL agree on is that using up or depleting any or ALL of the planets natural resources would make this planet unsustainable. The management of the planet is a responsibility that falls on all of us. It's important for all of us to care for the planet and do our part. If we all make an effort to fit the 3 R's in our schedule, we can make a vast improvement on a much higher level.

Hi Kenrick...My biggest move was to purchase a Toyota Prius Hybrid shortly after returning from a trip to Antarctica.

We have a great recycling spot just a short distance from our home and they make it so easy to recycle numerous items.

"What we need to focus on is what we CAN do from here to ensure that life on our plant is sustained."  I think this is the way to move forward.  We can't change the past, but we can impact the future.

David, blaming the govnerment would be a waste of energy due to the obvious fact that there are always right. And if the government believes riting is a word, it would be put in to webster's dictionary without hesitation. Lol

You are touting a sustainable future here and yet you fail to mention water? Back in 2000 this article in your local paper warned Tampa's water supply shrivels. We are kidding ourselves to talk about sustainability in terms of recycling while ignoring aquifer depletion and our water consumption. Tom Palmer wrote this just recently Florida Water Woes Will Only Get Worse. Just saying there should be a W in your 3R's.

Have been doing it for years, before a color was the buzz word label. It is survival on a Maine farm, in rural small communities and nothing is wasted. Everyone treads lightly and is a good steward of the natural resources. Less people makes the simpler living easier too. Less costly all the way around.

Chris Miller, I agree completely. The topic of water depletion isn't widely published here and with the daily thunderstorms we tend to forget about that important issue. Thank you for bringing that up!
