The Smurfs 2 (PG): The evil Gargamel (Hank Azaria) kidnaps Smurfette (Katy Perry) in this sequel to the 2011 hit.

Opening Friday

2 Guns (R): Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg are two undercover agents whose identities are exposed while trying to infiltrate a drug cartel. Bullets will fly.

Blackfish (PG-13): This already controversial documentary exposes the perils of keeping killer whales in captivity in water parks such as Sea World.

Inside The American Mob (9 p.m. Sunday, National Geographic Channel) Debuting with back-to-back episodes, this documentary series about the history of organized crime skips the Al Capone era to focus on John Gotti, Little Nicky Scarfo and the real-life contemporaries of Tony Soprano.

The Writers’ Room (10 p.m. Monday, Sundance Channel) So where does somebody come up with the idea of a high-school-chemistry-teacher-turned-meth-kingpin? The writers and producers of AMC’sBreaking Bad offer a peek backstage at their show. Lots of gossip — for instance, that Jesse Pinkman’s character was supposed to just last for a couple of episodes.

Our Nixon (9 p.m. Saturday, CNN) A documentary retelling the story of the Nixon administration — from the moon landing to Watergate — through 8mm home movies shot by presidential aides.
