Lehi is city located in Utah county, which is in the state of Utah.  Lehi was named after a religious figure from Latter Day Saint scripture.   As of the 2000 census, the city population was 19,028. as of 2005 that number has jumped to over 32,000 (estimated). Lehi is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state. For more details on Demographics of Lehi City.

A group of Mormon pioneers settled the area now known as Lehi in the fall of 1850, at a place called Dry Creek, in the northernmost part of the valley near Utah Lake.  It was renamed Evansville in 1851, after David Evans, a local bishop of the LDS church. (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints)

The land was organized into parcels of forty acres, and new settlers received a plat of this size until the entire tract was exhausted. There was little water to irrigate the rich soil, so it became necessary to divert a portion of American Fork Creek. Evansville consumed up to one-third of the water as authorized by the Utah Territorial Legislature.

The settlement grew so rapidly that in early 1852, Bishop Evans petitioned the Utah Territorial Legislature to incorporate the settlement. Lehi City was incorporated by legislative act on February 5th, 1852. It was the sixth city incorporated in Utah. The legislature also approved a request to call the new city Lehi, after a Book of Mormon prophet of the same name.

Lehi is also known for one of its most famous businesses.  Lehi Roller Mills was used as a backdrop in Footloose in the early 1980's.  It was Kevin Bacons characters work place and the location of the dance at the end of the movie. In 1984 the Mill was located in empty fields, but now it's surrounded by shops, restaurants, and other establishments.
