Good workout facilities in the Indianapolis area

I was asked this just a few days ago from an out of state relocation, thought I would create a blog post on my experiences personally.

I have been lifting at Cardinal Fitness for several years now.  This is the newest  chain of fitness facilities in the Indianapolis area.  They have them all over the place.  I love that, I can go to any for the same price of $19.95/month.  Depending on what area of town I am in, I can get a quick work out in.   They have Hammer Strength equipment, and everything is new(no older then 2 years).  The only downside is most of these are a little on the small side.  It's not a big deal until January came around and everyone with their new years resolutions showed up.  As it always the case, that will fade by first of February.  Other then January, there is plenty of room and plenty of machines.

For a list of their locations, follow this link.

What else is available?  Another option if you want multi locations in the city is Bally Total Fitness.  I lifted there for over 10 years.  They have large facilities, with areas for swimming as well as for cardio classes.  These are not available at Cardinal Fitness.  The downside?  They don't have the newest equipment, although they have been adding more equipment the past few years. They are more expensive, and only have 3 locations, relative to over 10 for Cardinal Fitness.  I think I was paying $30/month a few years ago.
