So What's In Your Email Inbox Today?

TrashEvery morning I pick up my computer and usually start with my Microsoft Outlook to see what email has arrived over night.  Since I became a Realtor and since I started posting my email on various Internet sites I have been bombarded by SPAM of all kinds.  I have a SPAM filter, yet many of these emails still slip through.

So far I've received 3 emails that talk about Pharmaceutical Drugs I can purchase at a lower price.  4 on some sort of stock tip I can use to make millions.  4 that have something to do with real estate.  I can either buy leads, reap the benefits of some GREAT program a million dollar seller has designed and last but not least, I can buy Viagra?!?  Now somewhere in all that mess I received emails from my site visitors or something else that I view important.

I'm curious. . .Is anyone else experiencing this barrage of SPAM since they became a Realtor and/or since they started posting their information on various websites that prospects might find them?  If so, have you found a good program that works well to eliminate this junk?  I flag these emails and then they just start coming in a different way.  I'd be interested in knowing what other people do.  Comments are welcome, no SPAM please!

Cynthia,

I get between 400-500 emails a day, probably 50% of that is spam...

I have some built-in spam filters for eudora as well as Thunderbird that helps some.

i Get at least 20 emails every day offering some type of prescription drugs cheap. I need to invest in a better junk mail filter or figure something out because they drive me nuts, Especially when I have it coming to my blackberry as well. I might go crazy if it doesnt stop

My hotmail one goes in the junk email. It's like having 2 emails to check vs. 1. Gotta make sure nothing good is in the junk mail, like a lead!

HI All,

I always recommend my customers for Google email service for Businesses as they have the exceptional SPAM Guard and other Security features which very few service providers OFFER. Of Coarse, It costs $50/year/user but it worth.

Hi Pat.  I received an email notice that a comment was made on my post.  It took me a couple of tries to remember my login.  Lol.  I know many of the people I use to blog with have moved on to a new chapter in their lives.  Me too.  I would like to return, however, I spent a lot of money on advertising, memberships and the MLS service.  A job is suppose to something you make some money at, not throw good money after bad.  I hope things are going well for you and that your story doesn't have a chapeter like mine.  Thanks for thinking about the ol' timers.  Blessings - Cyndi
