In the April issue of Prevention Magazine each of 50 states were rated for Walking and or Walkability.
Silver Spring, MD was rated#1 in Maryland and #17 of the Top 100 cities in the Nation!
(I sure hope we don't get disqualified when they figure out Silver Spring is not a real city) SHHHHH!
The results from Prevention Magazine's Ratings for the state of Maryland:
No. 1 Silver Spring!!!
The experts cited good countdown signals for walkers that allow enough time to cross at busy intersections, our vibrant Downtown with Shopping, Dining and Entertainment as reasons for rating Silver Spring at the top. We have the most mass transit users anywhere in the state and a low number of cars per household helped Silver Spring rank #1 in Maryland
No. 2 Bethesda - We Finally Beat Bethesda for Something!!
No. 3 Gaithersburg
No. 4 Dundalk
No. 5 Baltimore
No. 6 Frederick
No. 7 Germantown
No. 8 Wheaton-Glenmont

That's impressive. It must be a great town, as I know Baltimore's Inner harbor area is a great place to walk.

Interesting. When I read the headline, I said, HEY, what about Bethesda. But, there it is.
The one I can't figure is Germantown.
