Tips For You: The Blogger

By
Real Estate Agent with Relocating To Baton Rouge & Surrounding Areas

It happened. Three days ago, my laptop crashed. I went into panic mode. What will I do? How will I work? How will I live? I have never had a problem having access at my finger tips until now. I must admit the dreaded crash as allowed me to view things differently. I was spending too  much time at the computer. It's crazy but I have more energy now and I'm not blogging in my sleep. I think I'm going to live!

Here are a few things that you can do to help you feel better while blogging!!!

Blog Once  A Day-

Yes, I know it hurts but you'll be okay. You're going to make it. Remember it's QUALITY not QUANITY!

Do Not Check E-Mail First Thing In The Morning

Yes, it might be hard at first but you must use the force, grasshopper! Don't go straight to your
e-mail in the morning. Try to get at least two tasks done before you
go get your blog on!

Do Not Blog/E-Mail Right Before You Go To Bed

I've read in several places that the computer can cause stress. Do not get on the
computer before you go to bed. You will have trouble going
to sleep. You need to give yourself
time to wind down.

Do Not Sit In Front Of The Computer All Day

Get up and be productive. Try to add a work-out to your day.
I've heard blogging 24/7 might cause bloggers butt.

Set A Certain Amount of Time To Be On The Computer

Jus like you have a work schedule, set a computer schedule.
Set a time to be on and a time to get off and
stick to it!!

Get A Life

This is a hard one. Blogging is so easy to get wrapped up in you
can easily forget about the outside world. Get out of
the house/office. Go get some fresh air. You'll be glad
you did.

Hi.  Well, my story is a little different.  I only blog about once a month.  However, my main emphasis is quality quality quality.

However, your tips about the computer and your relationship with it are right on!

Best of luck.

Lindsay,

Another great post.  It seems like some blog until they fall asleep at the keyboard.  Quality is certainly the key.  I have seen far to many blogs, sometimes to the point of annoying repetition, some that just copy and paste the same links or information into a blog with a different title each time.

LINDSAY - You've made me re-think my day now.  I never thought about needing wind-down time, but it seems to make sense.  All of your tips are really good.  I've bookmarked this as a reminder of what to do, but I won't read it before bed ;-).

Great Point!  I've been trying to live more by the wisdom of the "4 hour Workweek" by Tim Ferris.  He makes some great points on learning to separate the truly important from the "working for works sake."  By staying on track we get more accomplished and have more free time.  Of course, It's easier said than done.
