Since 1964, 49 years ago to be exact, The Festival In The Park has been a Charlotte NC Tradition. Located at Freedom Park, this festival surrounds the 3 acre lake and is only about 3 miles from Uptown Charlotte.
This festival has been a tradtion for many Charlotteans for years and runs day and night. Stroll around the lake and visit over 180 artists and craft vendors. There you will find unique artwork from local and national artists alike. Food vendors are in full force here and you certainly can get your fill of funnel cakes and much more. Take in the tunes as you listen to Big Band music live every day. Enjoy all the entertainment that this festival has to offer from The Childrens Theatre, Carolina Clowns, The Magicians Stage, Jazz Arts Initiative and the Folk Society just to mention a few. This venue is sure to be a treat to all your senses.
This wondeful FREE family event typically sees around 85,000 people however in 2012 it is estimated that over 120,000 people attended this large vent. Don't worry, you won't feel the crowds as this event is spread over several days and evenings allowing you to go at your convenience.
The Festival was voted by Southeast Tourism Society's as a Top 20 events for the month of September and Last lear was chosen by Sunshine Artists Magazine Best 200 Festivals.
