We always look forward to touching base with LANDTHINK. We especially anticipate getting the results of the monthly surveys to which other stakeholders and Land Brokers have responded. The surveys cover subjects of interest to those of us who love the LAND- such as last month’s survey that asked:
“What portion your investment portfolio is in land??
Here in Asheville, where Land is amazing, beautiful and special land gems abound if you know how to find them (I’m smiling)- any number of factors can influence a land investment decision.
And our experience as 1031 Like-Kind Exchange land brokers has shown the value of considering a longterm strategy. But today, many factors other factors can influence land buyer. YES- investing in land is one (very tangible) way to build wealth. Yes- land, appreciates in value. Yes- LAND is limited in supply. And YES- how wonderful to be the steward of a place out-of-doors.
But we wondered how others envision LAND as an investment. Here’s what the survey revealed:
The results of the survey showed that, “… 23.5% of respondents indicated that land comprises 1-20% of their financial assets. In a still uncertain economy, it’s common for people to seek out safer, non-traditional ways to diversify their portfolio. It seems both small investors and seasoned, wealthy investors alike are making an educated decision to invest in land.
