What I Learned by growing my business: Growth comes with hard work and long hours!

This contest for September asked us to speak on how growing our business has been for us.

Well, take it from someone who has grown over 600% in the last 4 years, it does come with a price.

There are many long hours and many more hours trying to perfect the systems to shorten the hours all the while trying to keep up with the growth and not disappoint anyone along the way.

First I will say that the gamechanger for me has been mastering 2 things:  Short Sales and Lead Generation.

My short sale knowledge and expertise and passion are unmatched by anyone in this country and I am convinced that there are banks out there that have a board on the wall that says "if Kevin B Tolbert PA is submitting it, just rubber stamp it, because it's inevitable anyway."

As for lead generation, BLOGGING, BLOGGING, BLOGGING, and oh yes, did I mention BLOGGING?

Yes folks, the SEO impact of blogging not to mention the steady referrals from my AR friends is just unmatched.

For September, I did 8 referral listings for AR members and they are all closed or closing.

But all this business does come with a price and that is time.  Late nights, early mornings, and finally just this week the formation of my team and now the training of them to bring them to the point of taking me out of the day to day begins.

This is the exact model of the Millionaire Real Estate Book and I will soon be out of the day to day and free to live my life and take back more time for us.

However, I have no regrets I am living this dream with only one company and that is Keller Williams Realty and next year being the gluton for punishment I am, I plan to open more teams in more markets.

It's easy once you have the first one perfected.

My team said to me today after 1 week, they are already see results and they are in active production for the first time and some of them have been at this for 6 months.

They said they would not still be in business had it not been for me.

HOWEVER, then they said please don't be upset if we need to work a little less than 8 hours per day.  This coming from Realtors folks.  You know the ones that normally go and come as they want and work as they want. 

Now after a week with me they feel guilty if they need to leave an hour early or come in an hour late.

NOW THAT IS TRAINING and MINDSET at it's finest!

I am betting that this team will set a world record for next year as the most productive team in the Nation.

These guys are ROCKING and they are loving it.

We work the hours to build a business worth owning, a life worth living, and a career worth having.

Hi Kevin - Thanks for the blog post.  I am restarting my real estate business in a new city (Santa Cruz, CA) and trying to keep my Oregon real estate business going.  Thankfully to the MREA model, I am relearning the meaning of timeblocking and seeing that the more I time block the more I get done. Thanks for your post and yes, I agree about KW, it is the most wonderful company.
