Why aren't we drilling in Alaska and what does that have to do with Real Estate?

This Presidential election is about more than partisan politics.  It's about the future of our country, but then again isn't it always?  I wish there was this much fervor when people elect their congressmen and women.  Will someone please tell me why we're not establishing more offshore oil rigs and why we're not drilling more aggressively in Alaska?  I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.  Energy and the Border equate the kind of "change" we need to address.  Wonder what immigration has to due with the future of our economy let alone Real Estate and Real Estate values?  I think this video explains it in such a way that most people on here can understand; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7WJeqxuOfQ

By the way, no one else has said it but I have to tell you I'm pretty proud of our President.  The media depicts him as an idiot because he doesn't govern by their manipulation, or poles or popularity.  He leads with steadfast and focused courage.  I say four more years compared to our current alternatives, and though I have great respect and admiration for McCains service to his country I don't think he's the kind of true conservative that we need, but he sure beats those other two. What do you think?

Al Gore sucks and Global warming is a bunch of BS, but for some reason people are falling for it so we don't want to hurt our Earth buy burning fuel, so hopefully that answers the Alaska question. and I believe McCain is planning on drilling in Alaska.

Brandon I agree with you andyet I think to say that man has absolutely nothing to do with climate change would be the same as saying that the billions of other animals that inhabit the earth have nothing to do with it as well.  We're an ecosystem but to suggest that we can do anything to stop climate change from happening, well - you'd have to be as thick as the walls of the Grand Canyon to think that, and the argument to say that we can slow it down is almost just as ridiculous. Our planet has been evolving for 100's of billions of years and if you were to take the life span of the planet in terms of one calendar year then mankind doesn't show up on the scene until December 31st at around a quarter to midnight and that's a conservative figure.  People that believe man is responsible for "global warming" are as strange to me as people who believe the planet is only 2000 years old - there's a screw loose in both of them.  Look, I'm all for protecting our planet and making a reasonable effort to do so, but don't tell me I have to buy a $30.00 light bulb or change the temperature in my home to something that is less comfortable to me and my family.  For those who want to do so?  More power to ya. I have 100 million year old Ordivician Rock in my backyard, (limestone with trilobites and shell fish encrusted in it) and I live in Ohio.  What does that tell ya?  I have rock that was created from shallow ocean basin which I now use as decorative walking stones, they remind me of how small I am in the scheme of things, whereas the egocentric and fearful people glaze over such opportunities to right size themselves and instead live with blinders on and fearful thinking they have to be able to change everything in Gods worlds in order to survive.  Sad.

People complain too much these days. America is a great superpower, yet people yell at Bush everyday. It is hard being the leader one one of the world's greatest nations. Also, drilling in Alaska kills animals that may become extinct. U.S. is a great place to live a normal life because we have shelter, food, electricity, water, life insurance, etc.
