I keep my camera in my bag and snap, snap away on a sunny day.
I put up a web site to store a lot of them so they are quickly available, see: http://www.atlanticlights.com .
Or, store them on the hard drive. I only take photos in .jpg format and with a "Mail" setting which is approx. 400-600 pixels so they take little room in the hard drive. I use them on web sites and they convey color and a sense of neighborhood.

Rory - love the last link. I am blinded from all the gazillion pictures. Thanks again Maureen
Lenn - I always have my camera with me too so since you inspired me to shoot where I am...here it is!
This concept may not work for me...tractor crossings are big here. (Raisin capitol of the world)
Sarah - MS has photo's?
Veronica - I expect to see some interesting photo's from you now
Val - try this link...it is easy.
Thanks everyone, you have been very helpful but if there are more sources out there please let us know.
Sheron, great question. I'm bookmarking to have quick access to the answers!
One that I like is http://www.morguefile.com/- sounds creepy but it's perfectly normal and has great free photos, their motto is "where photo reference lives".
I, too, have photo envy. I will be bookmarking this post because I need all the help I can get. Thanks for posting this.
I saw the picture you took before I noticed where you're at and thought "geez, that looks familiar." It is familiar--I have lots of family in your area (Reedley-Dinuba-Selma).
