Brrrr... My wife and daughter (Robyn and Jaime) went shopping today and for me it was a great day to do a final cleanup on the yard.
Was in the mid-60's all afternoon....until they got home!!
I was mowing in shorts and a t-shirt. In Nebraska...in the Winter!!
The girls came around the corner and at that exact time the wind switched to the North!
Coincidence maybe? Maybe...or Maybe Not
All I had left was to cut up some branches for firewood that I had trimmed from our Honey Locust a month or so ago.By the time I was done with that twenty minute chore the wind was blowing 35 MPH and the temp was racing towards the freezing mark.
The temperature has now dropped over 44 degrees since 4pm and at last look was at 19 degrees.
The wind right now sounds like a freight train or tornado...and I hope the roof shingles stay on as it is clipping about 40-45 mph right now. (ok...I know they will stay on in 75 mph winds so they will be fine.)
You absolutely have to love the highlights of our awesome Nebraska weather here to put up with the lows like we will have the next few days. Tomorrow the snow blade and chains go on!!
Oh yea...here is the picture of the shorts on the mower today!!! And yes the yard looks great!!
Until Next Time.....
