Tips for cold weather in Dahlonega.

Open the doors of the kitchen cabinet under the sink. This will let warm air to the wall to help prevent pipes from freezing. Do the same at any bathroom vanity that is on an outside wall. Also keep just a small stream of water running. Running water is less likely to freeze than still water.

Dahlonega Georgia is expected to get the coldest weather we have had in the last 10 years. I expect there will be plenty of frozen pipes to keep the local plumbers bussy over the next few days.

Keeping a little water running and opening up the cabnet doors may be just the thing that keeps you from having frozen pipes.

Having your car facing out may also help you get out of the driveway, espically if you need to go uphill to get out. Backing up and turning around on ice is a good way to get stuck.

Alan, great tips and especially for those pipes with exterior walls.   When we had the week of below zero temps, many homeowners had busted pipes.
