It is flu season and no matter how cautious we are, the virus has a sneaky way of invading our system. Oh, I was not spared by this microorganism. Even the 3 dogs were sneezing intermittently. It was like a chorus of cold and flu victims.
Being sick is not an excuse to feel down completely. I may be a bit maudlin today--- but who would complain? For some reason, whenever I don't feel well, I think about my late father. He was the pillar of strength in the family. In my solitary confinement, I take comfort by drowning my thoughts with his memories.
I went online and play one of the songs my dad used to sing to my mother. "It's not the pale moon that excites me. That thrills and delights me. Oh no. It's just the nearness of you."
Ahh. I can play this over and over again and reminisce the days when my dad and mom swayed beautifully to this melody.
There are songs that become dear and close to us because the endearment is entrenched by the people we adored and loved.
