It has been announced that the 2014 VA loan limit for 100% financing for Honolulu County (Oahu) has been increased to $721,050.
This raises it from the earlier announced $625,500 which was a decrease from 2013. A online news article this morning on Hawaii Reporter with a statement from Senator Schatz, confirmed the rumours we started hearing over the weekend.
The earlier decision appeared to be a huge mistake by all standards. The cost of housing on Oahu has been increasing. The military has recognized that by giving our troops stationed on Oahu large increases in the 2013 and 2014 BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing).
This is exciting news for not only active duty soldiers and their families, but for our civilians who have served their countrty and will be depending on this benefit to be able to own a piece of the soil they protected.
