Here is my entry in the great Spring has sprung contest Sally Cheeseman has thought of for us. I do not want to be a big complainer and I am not gonna waste your time moaning about our weather but it is no where near Spring here. It is a state of mind though.
Anyway, I think I am making pretty good use of the cold and gloomy days. I have Jeremiah my web developer come over every week for a couple hours and we tweak and work on new ideas. One we just completed which is an IDX and simple Wordpress site called Chicagomove. I have been using links from it in blogs to show property searches and through Google Analytics it shows we are slowly getting more and more hits.
Also we are building another site using a platform called "Virb" which is easy to drag and drop stuff around. Has anyone used or heard of this one? My goal is to get all the techie stuff done in the next month so I can work on other things.
My day is pretty busy. I am the care taker to my parents, mostly my 91 year old dad who insists on still working. I am his driver and it is prety time consuming but we have great conversations. I took him to a Bulls game in January and he loved it.
When I made this pie chart I looked at it and decided that I have a pretty well balanced but busy life. My yellow slice called reading for self enjoyment includes exercising on my elliptical too but the reading is most important to let go and forget about work.
Anyway, this pie chart made me take a good look at myself and I feel pretty good about it. Folks do not forget your honey do list. I make a big mess when trying to cook dinner but I am good at being handed the plates and stuff and putting them in the dishwasher and unloading it.
I love Active Rain. The people are so cool and friendly. I really feel family. There are so many people that are so loyal to me and I feel loyal to them in reading their blogs and writing comments. I hope you do not get mad if I ask a few of you to talk to me on the phone for the February Cloudbust contest? I have to admit I hate when they include this, I am sort of shy when it comes to taking up your time.
Below is the Active Rainbow. It only comes out when I have a very inspirational post and feel extra motivated. I don't know if I ever told you the story of it but here goes:
We came home on a Saturday afternoon after I was dragged around to a bunch of stores. It was raining and when we got home the sun started coming out. Home is right across the street from Lake Michigan and my neighbor came running over and said "Noah OMG look out over the Lake at the Rainbow". I grabbed my camera and took this shot. You can not tell but this rainbow is about 20 miles long. It reached all across the lake and was the biggest I have ever seen in my life.
