It is always a hard decision.

A parent of a friend of mine, had a car accident.

No one got hurt with the exception of some minor brusing.

But, it is time for the parent to stop driving.  Because of the accident, the parent has had the license taken away until they can pass the test again.

There is a non-foolproof way of telling when you should stop driving...

If man's best friend loks like this...it is time.

Hello William, children are reluctant to take their parent's freedom away - but I really believe they need to take responsibility - it is not easy but it should be obvious!  The only elderly person that gave up his car keys was my friend's father.  We still to this day wonder why he made that decision.  Thanks for sharing.

Well the picture is cute, but this is a real situation many people face. My family had to face it many years ago. It was a difficult one, but one that never was resolved. Other circumstances stepped in and took care of the problem.

Haha! Great photo Bill! The privilege of driving is a hard one to do without but for safety's sake when the time comes, is very necessary.

Lol!  Thanks for the chuckle, but sad reminder that there are folks with licenses behind the wheel that shouldn't be there.  Maybe someone will take notice of your blog!

Oh boy, this is true. My Mother has put self-imposed restrictions on her driving. No more night driving or driving in the wind and rain. I know I sleep better knowing that!

Riding with my mom or dad stresses me out. They no longer anticipate traffic. Close on slow movng car, slow to that speed and THEN try to change lanes

I know that for myself, I don't drive at night if at all possible.  On coming cars are hard on my eyes.

Bill...

It's always tough to ask someone to give up their freedom, but there is a time when the public is endangered by impaired drivers and so action must be taken.

I am getting where I don't drive at night.  I know that giving up driving all together has to be a scary thing.

Love the picture.

Unfortunately, for some aging folks, taking away their license is like taking away their freedom.  Fortunately, some realize and understand why they should forfeit their licenses.  Cute photo William.
