What Is On The Beach?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Daytona Condo Realty, 386-405-4408

Ron Masters and his creation in DaytonaWe walk on the beach practically every day. What we find there is the sand, the tranquility, the ever-changing beauty of the ocean…

But sometimes we run into something unexpected, like this sand sculpture on the sand.

We ran into this sand sculpture when the tide started reaching the footing and there was not much time left before the sand tower is washed away… So, I asked this very enthusiastic man, who put it there with a lot of love and patience, to pose for me, and here is the photo.

His name is Ron Masters, and he is not even from Daytona, but he travels to work with sand, which is not as soft as in Palm Bay, where he lives. He is not retired, still works, and he is a busy man, but this is his passion, and we wish him the best of luck and many more sculptures on our sand.

Hi Jon - I would say that I "envy" your ability to walk on the beach every day because I can think of no better way to begin my day.  The salty, misty breeze blowing in.  Walking along the water with no shoes and the sand beneath my feet.  The feeling is so relaxing.  However, I don't say "envy" because it is a goal of mine and I will achieve it.

Heh, my answer was "sand" while I was waiting for the page to load. Suprised to see that is where you were going.

Cool sculpture!

Ron Masters

Jon,

Thanks so much for featuring me on your page. The "Moon Machine" was my final sand sculpture of the week (I built a total of 3 while on vacation). I'm glad you managed to catch me having fun. If you're interested in the other sculptures, they can be found here: www.facebook.com\Sandcastling or head over to my main page, www.Sandcastling.com

Thanks again. Hope we get to meet again! :)

Ron

P.S. Between both of our names, we could probably start a surf shop. Does "Jon Ron's" sound like a winner? Lol. :)

I sometimes envy people with that kind of a talent.  I have a hard time using a bucket to make a castle

William - I always deeply envy them. And to people like Ron this is a double feeling. One is to Ron's undeniable talent, and one is to his outgoing, cheerios nature.

Ron - it is my token of appreciation. I "surfed" your site, read about you, saw your sculptures. When I met you on the beach, there were other people and a child talking to you, and I did not want to disrupt.

You are making people stop and wonder, and this is wonderful.

Thank you

I've seen videos of sand-sculptures, chalk sidewalk drawings, ice sculpture, etc. and admire the work, but wish the medium was more long lasting!

Thank you

Jon,

We are fans of these artists who know their works will wash away sooner or later by the tide.  How nice that he responded.  A

Alexandra - time from time we come across deserted sculpture of an alligator. Huge, 15-18' long, so rich in details, magnificent...

Love it, too. And it was so nice of Ron to respond

That's very nice. I'm lucky enough to walk the beaches in Sunny Isles from time to time and also come across sand sculptures.
