Pet of the Week

Little Daisy is in need of a happy ending.  Her and her puppy were surrendered to the shelter after their owner had left them alone in a trailer for 2 weeks.  A neighbor had been coming over every few days to make sure they had food and water.  Daisy is a senior Chihuahua.  She had spent her life with her 7 year old puppy until being dropped off at the shelter.  The puppy was adopted out this past week, so now Daisy is all alone, abandoned by her owner's and then left behind when her running buddy/puppy was adopted. 

As a foster mom I know from experience that adopting a senior dog can be very rewarding.  I recently had to put my senior Shi Tzu to sleep.  She had been a puppy mill dog for many years before wandering into our lives.  While I only got to have her for a couple of years I know she made our lives better every day.  And I have the satisfaction of knowing that I gave her a happy ending.  She was grateful everyday for the life she ended up with, and I know this because she thanked me with kisses and tail wags every day, even on that last day. 

I hope someone will give Daisy a chance to give them kisses.
