I used to write a blog about common things that could be used for other or unsual things about twice a year, but it has been a few years since I have. I thought it was time to bring it back. It always peaks someones interest or at least their humor. So here goes. Hope these are new and a little different from the past.
Did you know that you could use this for......
- Mayonaise to remove water rings from furniture. Use the "real" stuff, no diet mayo on your furniture . Dab it on the ring, let it sit for a few hours and wipe away. No more ring!
- Have a spare eyeglass case hanging around in a drawer? Next time you travel use it for stowing all those little small things that can get lost in your suitcase, i.e. jewelry, chargers, etc.
- Need help gtting something off a higher shelf and its not breakable and a little bit squishable? Use those kitchen tongs. Also good for getting things that haven fallen behind furniture as well.
- Price Tags & Stickers, what a pain to remove, you scrub and scrub, break your nail and there is still residue? Break out the liquid laundry pre-treater, dab it on, let it sit and wipe it off.
- Dropped something on your "blue" suede shoes? Wipe it off gently then grab your trusty emery board to gently buff away the rest of the stain. This will work on all suede surfaces. Go Gently!
- Just finished making your favorite Italian dish and your hands smell like garlic or onions or both? Rub your hands on a stainless steel sppon under running water.
- Don't have a degree in flower arrangement and can't figure out how those pesky florist make the flowers stand up so well? Straws!!! Cut the straws to the length you need and slip the stems into them. Done!
- Have an interview and need your shoes to look spiffy and spot free? Grab the newspaper (the black and white part), ball it up and shine away.
- Can't find the WD40? Grab the cooking spray and spray on that squeaky door hinge, moving the door back and forth a few times.
- Carpal Tunnel? Grab your rubber gloves, slip them on and twist that jar lid
- Don't want to wring our delicates out, but don't want puddles of water on your floor? Grab the kitchen colander, push the water out gently by kneading the fabric in the bowl
Sometimes its not about real estate, sometimes it just about real stuff
