Back when I was an AR newbie and unfamiliar with the whole point system and reason behind it, like most newbies for a little while I was prone to post anything. Thankfully, that didn't last long because how boring would that be? Then, thanks to AR University and Bob Stewart, I learned that content matters. Yes, I do post music videos (or try to) on a weekly basis to a group I founded "Monday Melodies" and on the surface that might seem like an easy post. It really isn't. The music matters but I try to deliver relative content along with the video as I see it pertaining to real estate.
This week, I noticed that there are a number of new and relatively young real estate agents in our area. They are probably better than brand new agents from twenty years ago because the pre-licensing courses are tougher and there is more of an ingrained consumer protection thought process now. This is due to schools and instructors getting better with a more comprehensive curriculum.
Most of us with regards to our profession should also be aging like fine wine as well. The best agents realize that unlike wine, we don't become finer by just sitting in a vacuum. The agents participating in forums like ActiveRain would go stark raving mad sitting in a vacuum. That is evident by witnessing their community involvement and their continual self-education of our ever changing world of real estate.
Aging like fine wine is what I think of when I hear Ian Anderson. When I was a teenager listening to Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson was already incredible. Unlike some musicians of his rock and roll era, he wasn't content to keep creating the same music for the next four decades just to be trotted out to prove he was still breathing. He continues to perfect his craft and wows his ever increasing audience. Doesn't he serve to remind us all that if we want to have an ever increasing pool of excellent clients that we should always strive to perfect our craft as well?
Enjoy your week!
