Special offer

Jimi Jamison 1951 -2014

Jimi Jamison died yesterday.

A friend of mine picked him up at the Memphis airport Sunday night

after he returned from his concert in California.

She took him home, he laid down, and he died in his sleep from a heart attack.

I spoke with her last night.

He had just celebrated his birthday a week earlier on the 23rd.

Jimi and I had been friends for a long time.

Here we are together at a show we played  some years ago to raise money for a local charity, long before I cut my hair and joined the real estate board.

Jimi brought me towel.

And here I am singing with Jimi's band.

Jimi had a worried look on his face and thought the band had found a new singer :-)

I worked many shows and charity events with him throughout the years.

Here he is with the song and theme he wrote for Baywatch.

And of, course, "Eye of the Tiger" "live" in France last year.

So long pal. I'm really going to miss you.

David: Sorry to hear about another entertainment great falling. I always enjoyed Jimi's performances when seen. Seems to be a more common occurrence as we all age.

We hadn't seen each other in a long time, Hannah, six years or so. I was surprised to find out about his death yesterday from friends. I'm sorry I hadn't been to visit him since I live down the road from him a short distance. Thanks for the note.
