Snowbound in Indiana

By
Home Stager

The day before Valentine's, everything has come to a halt in Northwest indiana.  School is cancelled, agents can't get to their offices (only one I talked to today was actually in the office) and the presentation we had this morning is rescheduled for next week.

It started snowing last night and has not let up since.  Predictions range from six to 8 inches, but this is the land of the drift and the pile of snow on my patio table measures 14 inches.  The view is beautiful , but the drive is deadly so life stops until the salt trucks can make an impact.  Those who were lucky enough to make it out this morning will have a hard time getting back home tonight. All we can do now is sit down with some hot chocolate and blog about it.

I took a photo of my dog this afternoon to give you lucky southerners an idea of what it is like here. I sent him outside to do his business and this is the result.  Take a good look at the picture and you will see how far he ventured into the snow.

His name is Cooper, he is a brindle boxer and he so cannot believe I am making him pose for this picture.

Hi Kimberly, I sit in the Central Indiana area with snow, blowing snow and sleet.  I don't think that our area has gotten as much as the northern area, thank goodness but enough to keep everyone that can inside or shoveling their snow.  I decided I would work from home, work on my website and just enjoy a slower day.  But I have had the priveledge of keeping the driveway and sidewalks clear.  My hubby had to go into work today.  Stay safe and think SPRING!

I'm bumping  this up with a comment so that Val can see my one and only dog baby.  I know I don't talk dogs a lot - Val this photo is for you!

Enjoy your "snowbound experience"!  I used the 6 days I was stuck at my house (a week after I found AR) and "caught up" on lots of reading "in the Rain".

The picture of the yellow snow is too funny.  A Snow-day sounds cozy and productive!

Hey Kimberly, did you order this white stuff, just to become snow bound?  Just wondering, because I want to know who to put the blame on.  We are getting hit pretty hard too, lots of ice and very windy.  We know how you feel about Cooper too, we have a dog that likes to play in the snow, have not taught her how to make snow angels yet though.  Have a great week.

Deborah and Gina - With 2 girls home from school it will not be as productive as I'd like.  We did manage to get some cookies baked ,  though!

Bob - You can't blame me. I have no love for snow.  No ice here, but a lot of wind (as usual) and our neighborhood has yet to see a snow plow.  My tender footed little boy will not even consider playing in the snow, hence the short trip outside.

Hi Kimberly.  It is amazing the difference a few hundred miles can make.  We didn't really get anything here on the other end of the state.

On another note...I too am a boxer owner!  Two as a matter of fact.  I have a girl who is a brindle as well.  You should join It's Raining DOGS! Dog Lovers Group and post some pictures of Cooper.

I've posted a few different times about Ali and Brodie.  Check them out if you get time.
