Kid Friendly Halloween Events

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. Along with it comes fall, pumpkins, apple cider, and so much more! This year there are plenty of kid friendly events near Palm Desert, California. Below are a few of my recommendations:

Pumpkin Patch & Amusement Park - October 10 and October 31 - 3:30 - 10 p.m. Westfield Mall, Palm Desert, CA

This pumpkin patch is perfect for little ones. Nothing scary about it, just good old fashion fun with kiddie rides, a giant slide, fun house, snacks, games & prizes, and of course a pumpkin patch! Located in the parking lot of Westfield Mall on the corner of Highway 111 & Monterey. Have fun and support Animal Samaritans at the same time!

Palm Springs Villagefest - October 30 - starts at 6 p.m.

The City of Palm Springs and VillageFest celebrate Halloween with safe trick or treating for kids with vendors and downtown merchants. The night will consist of live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, face painting, crafts, and games. A children's costume contest will take place at 7:30 p.m. but beware of the Zombies!

For the adults, Zombie Walk Palm Springs, may be more your style. It is a free organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes to benefit SafeHouse of the Desert. Participants will make their way through the street fair as a type of street theater.

Zombie walk participants can opt for a zombie make over by the College of the Desert Theater Department at 6 p.m. for a small fee, which will be located in front of Starbucks at Tahqitz Canyon Way.

At 7 p.m. Zombie's should meet at the corner of Baristo Rd & S. Palm Canyon Drive in Downtown Palm Springs. Zombies will be released in small packs and will be given balloons to hand out to kids.

The Living Desert Howl-O-Ween Party - October 25 & 26, & 31st

Last year’s Howl-O-Ween at The Living Desert drew more than 23,000 visitors for the entire month. Visit The Living Desert October 25 & 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for some serious daytime fun for the kids! Expect trick or treat stations, a maze, bowling, animal encounters, pumpkin carving, craft workshops, face painting and more.  The Howl-O-Ween Night bash on October 31 is free for members ($10 for non-members) from 6 to 8:30 p.m. 

The Pumpkin Patch at Live Oak Canyon - September 20 - November 2nd

For those willing to travel a short distance (about 30 minutes) from Palm Springs, The Pumpkin Patch at Live Oak Canyon is a MUST GO! The Pumpkin Patch is one of the best around and is packed with great live entertainment, food, kid rides, pumpkins, gift shop, plus fun and unique special events. Live Oak Canyon's Pumpkin Patch is a real farm with lots of pick fields and full of fun farm animals and beautiful sunflowers. If you're looking for the authentic pumpkin patch, you won't be disappointed here! This is the real deal.
