About Trumbull...

Trumbull is a lovely community in Fairfield County, Connecticut that has managed to find balance between its New England town charm and its commercial and manufacturing character. The town was settled in 1639 as part of Stratford, and incorporated in 1797. Among the first businesses that started in the area were a grist mill, a saw mill and a dam on the Pequonnock River. Besides small manufacturing activities, the town’s residents were dealing with growing vegetables and raising cattle, pigs and chickens that were sold in Bridgeport and the towns along the Long Island Sound. The population in Trumbull remained pretty much the same, without significant changes, until after World War I when veterans, and workers from Bridgeport needed homes, and moved to Trumbull. People slowly started to give up agriculture and by 1930, less than half the land was dedicated to farming.

The small city of Trumbull, Connecticut managed to keep its country feel and has lots of open, green spaces that contribute to the quality of life in town. With plenty of parks and natural facilities, residents can enjoy miles and miles of trails, picnic areas, golf courses, ball fields, and playgrounds.

Diversity is the word that best describes the town of Trumbull, as there is a very interesting and balanced mix of residents both economically and culturally. Besides offering a wealth of outdoor activities and recreational opportunities for residents, the town has done great efforts to ensure that the educational systems stays at the top. At the nine public schools in town, there are more than 7,000 students enrolled. In addition, Trumbull is located close to Fairfield University, Sacred Heart University, and Bridgeport University.

This small and vibrant New England town is home to major corporations and businesses such as Unilever, Oxford Health Plans, Cadbury Schweppes, and NASDAQ. Antique homes and newly built houses give the countryside setting uniqueness, and make the town even more pleasant and interesting. The large shopping malls and big-box stores give residents everything they need in their hometown. Trumbull is a wonderful place to live in, with amazing scenery, and enough cultural, recreational, and career opportunities to please everyone.
