Howard CabinBoone NC & Surrounding Area: Great Mountain Towns

Happy Tuesday.
I wanted to share a bit about where we live and work in the small Mountain community of Boone (and nearby Blowing Rock, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, Banner Elk and Linville. West Jefferson is just North of Boone as well.

We are a small town area with emphasis on golf, tennis, HIKING (we have the Appalachian Trail) fishing and various outdoor activities and COOL summers. We also have three winter ski resorts nearby, Appalachian, Sugar Mtn and Beech. Our main buyer market comes from Charlotte and Raleigh NC areas, but the Florida 2nd home buyer is another huge entity. Homes here run from $100 to $300 on average per sqft. We have homes in nearby (6 miles away) town of Blowing Rock that are historically higher priced homes than in Boone. The draw is the mountains and views and cool weather. Usually $300 and up per sqft. The homes views in Blowing Rock. Average home sale in Boone is $250,000. Average in Blowing Rock is $407,000. Boone is a smaller mountain town of about 18,000 full time residents and another 18,000 reside here 9 months a year due to the university here: Appalachian State which brings in cultural events, plus Farmers Markets, Farm Tours, Chili Cookoffs, Spectacular Locally Owned restaurants, Fishing Competitions, The Symphony and more...Come see us.
