Well, its October in Arizona and I am looking forward to the next 6 months of beautiful, fantastic, great, pleasant, excellent, glorious,marvelous, outstanding, precious, remarkable, superb, terrific, wonderful, SUNNY WARM ARIZONA weather. You may think that I just overdid my enthusiasm, but I will not apologize. I moved here from Chicago 11 years ago and have enjoyed each and every day in Arizona.
I was born and raised in Chicago and dreaded each and every October. The only thing I had to look forward to(weatherwise) was 6 months of cold dreary weather ( and as a business owner, challenging annual high property tax assessment increases) It took awhile but finally after selling my businesses in Chicago I had a brain fart and realized that I was no longer tied to Chicago and had to be imprisoned in the cold weather. So, my wife and I started our search for a warmer climate. We considered Florida but hate the humidity and were concerned about the hurricanes. Same thought about Texas with humidity and tornadoes. We took a look at Las Vegas but did not think it was a good environment to raise our two young children. Considered California but the cost of living and real estate prices seemed to be very high. We visited Phoenix and fell in love. If you live in one the other places, please don't sent me hate mail. I am not criticizing any of these places, they are just not for me.
I never have to check a weather forecast. It is always SUNNY
I have the a private pilot license with instrument rating. When I lived in Chicago, flying required checking the weather forecast constantly because the weather could change very rapidly. This was a fantastic place to learn how to be a very good pilot with mother nature giving you her best challenges. (Just a note about flying in Chicago. I have to thank the Chicago air traffic controllers. Even with such a heavy workload in such a busy airspace, they were always very pleasant and professional to work with) In comparison to Chicago, Phoenix is always sunny and pleasant.
So, are you dreading another COLD WINTER? What are you waiting for? Retirement or the Democrats and Republicans to get along? Both of these could take a lifetime!
