The answer is a resounding YES!!! NAR is offering this 3 day classroom course FREE for Realtors. I just finished it last week. Let me tell you, taking 3 days off my businesses was painful, but oh so worth it.
My instructor, John Shipman, who just won NAR instructor of the year, was supurb. Interactive, funny, tuned in to when we were tired, just great. A builder, realtor and instructor, he has the experience and the PASSION to keep you interested.
Timely??? In my mind, critical. I was ahead of the SHORT SALE curve and I believe this is our next big thing..energy efficiency and sustainability with relation to our planet. Milenniels in particular, are much more attuned to what's going on environmentally, and how to keep their personal and housing foot prints lower.
Build It Green is a wonderful organization, non-profit, who helps with this program. I learned so much and mostly, I now know how to START the retrofitting of an existing home. Values of the various programs available, Loans available to individuals for retrofitting, the EEM (energy efficient mortgage), and the values of various products.
If you can manage it, GO!! What's 3 days..all that work was still waiting for me when I got out!
