Washington DC has had three new grocery stores open in the last few weeks around the city. The Washington Business Journal article, offers some insight into Washington DC's three newest grocery stores.
The first store is a Harris Teeter located in the Capitol Riverfront/Navy Yard neighborhood which opened last week. The Harris Teeter is the neighborhood's first grocery store.
The second grocery store is the re-opening of the Giant at Cathedral Crossing, in the Cleveland Park neighborhood. The Giant store has undergone a major overhaul it might as well be a new store opening and is located in the same location along Wisconsin Ave NW.
The third grocery store to open is the MOM's Organic Market opening at the Hecht's Warehouse project in Ivy City, the first tenant to move into Douglas Development's conversion of the former retail warehouse.

I have been waiting for that Giant to reopen for a while. It was always the nastiest Giant in the city but the neighbors fought its expansion tooth and nail for decades!
