What Gratitude Means to Me
First of all we must define the word Gratitude- Defined in the dictionary as 'The quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful' and 'Appreciative of benefits received'.
I must say I have so much in my life to be grateful for. In my personal life, I have a wonderful husband of 33 years and kids who I am very proud of. My daughter is a successful attorney who graduated from a top tier law school in the US and does corporate law for a large and well respected law firm. I have many good friends and several friends that are like sisters. I read somewhere if you could count your truly best friends on one hand (5) then you are very rich. I feel extremely rich for my beloved friends who I have known for many years. I am also grateful for wonderful in-laws who have enriched our lives and so glad my mother-in-law is still in our lives.
I am grateful for the wonderful parents I was lucky enough to been born to. They gave me a warm and loving home and taught me so many great qualities such as love and respect for others, high morals and ethics, the importance of education, respect of government, love of the military and law enforcement and the love of God. Though they are both gone now, a part of them will remain in my heart forever. I have so many good memories of them and will do what I can to always make them proud of me.
I am grateful for the quality of ' love of work'. I went to 5 years of college and have worked hard ever since I was 23 years old. I am proud to be a Realtor in the State of California. I have had many great clients and though I was helping them buy or sell homes, I have in turn learned much from them in return. I am grateful for my repeat business.
I am grateful for ActiveRain also as I have made so many friends, learned so much from others and found my inner soul- my love of nature. It is amazing that you can go for so many years and all of a sudden realize how important it is. This love has lead me to places I never expected to go and I see the world now in a more positive view with 'open eyes'.
I also give back to my community by volunteering. I am the 2014 President-Elect for the Women's Council of Realtors® East Valley Chapter and I will continue to work hard for this organization and it is an important national organization for Realtors to improve their skills, a networking group, and just to have fun together. I also volunteer my time with several county agencies to help our children who need help so they can grow up to be happy and healthy citizens of the community.
My Plan for 2015- I will continue to work hard, love people, be a good mother, wife, friend, colleague, nature lover, novice photographer, respected member of the community and educated real estate agent for all. I will work to better myself in all above categories plus try to be healthier by eating better and exercising more.
In Summary, dwell on the good things in your life and not the negative forces that will bring you down. We all have had to deal with sad and unhappy experiences but learn from these situations and move on to positive forces.
I am Grateful for so many good things in my life! Happy Holidays and may 2015 bring you good things and happiness.Give to others and it will come back to you tenfold.
