Looking Back on Your 2014 Accomplishments

A good friend of mine, Realtor of Clearwater FL - Cyndee Haydon recently shared about her Facebook status update, about "Looking Back on Your Accomplishments". She reminded me to "See How Far I Have Come" and that it's easy to get caught up on the things we didn't get to do.

Ahhh - That far too familiar emotions. (Big sigh).

I thanked Cyndee for the reminder. I'm always hard on myself. Being an over-achiever, I always look at things I didnt get to accomplish. Then, calling myself a "FAILURE". This past Summer, I noticed I was spiraling back into depression (for about 2 years or so). If I told my friends that I thought myself as a FAILURE, I know I will get stares and they would think I have lost my mind!

I HATE not doing things I set my heart/ mind to do (for the day). And you know how real estate can be. One phone call can change the course of your day! I also know I was very judgmental of myself. Everything has to be perfect.

The past 4-5 weeks, things have been different. I joined the CORE Training and it requires of us to chart our "Greatness Tracker". Being the Daily Checklist girl that I am, I also came up with my Daily Sheet to start my day, then check them off as I go. What's different this time is that, if my plans get de-railed, I will write down what I did instead.

I used to write them down on Index cards, then throw them away at the end of the day. I'm saving my Daily Sheets now so, a year from today, when I drag myself to the "Unhappy place", I have these sheets to remind me that I did accomplish little things (that de-railed me along the way).

Earlier this week, another friend, shared a Pinterest idea (I dont want to include the picture here). But it's about Getting a glass jar, then write Accomplishments through the year, fold it and drop it in the jar so that at the end of the year, I could look back at the major accomplishments I have for the year. I thought it was such a great idea! PS: I would include the date for the Accomplishment too.

Excuse me as I remind myself (and start to love myself a little) for the Accomplishments I've done thus far:

  • 2014:
It was the year that business volume almost doubled from 2013 (when there was no way I thought I could come close).
My husband and my agent, Anne joined my team.
We made 25% more than we did last year.
  • 2013:
We became debt-free (house and all). It was alot of sacrifices and No's for 7 years while we were on this journey.
  • 2012:
We had our baby girl, SherLi Grace. It was 1 month of bedrest at the hospital while we kept her in my tummy.
  • 2007
    Our first child was born.
3:16 team REALTY was founded. I became a broker.
    Earlier in 2007, I became a full-time realtor.
  • 2004
We became Christ-followers, following reading the Purpose Drive Life by Rick Warren.
  • 2003
    I became a full-time realtor.
I graduated with a Masters Degree from IT Management and Consulting.
  • In the 1996-early 2000's
I left Malaysia on my own, as a 20-year old.
In 1996, I met the love of my life and we started dating in 1997.
I have my first real job in 1998.
After graduation, we never got any financial help from family.
    In 2001, we got married.

I guess, since my adult life, I HAVE been accomplishing ALOT. It would be foolish for me to think I didn't.

To all be the Glory. Amen.

It is nice to sit back and reflect over our accomplishments as long as we don't stop planning for future accomplishments too.  Here's to a wonderful 2015

Loreena, that's a smart idea to keep track of your major accomplishments.  We'll have to try that out, too.  Best to you!

I've read that most of the really successful people keep a journal of their daily accomplishments. I keep a journal, even though I don't consider myself in that elite list of really successful people yet. I'm still working on it, and I have very high goals.

Have a great weekend
