Spreading Love In looking at adding more positivity to the world in the new year, think about as a net ADDING more love out there. This does not mean not standing your ground on your principles, or being some passive doormat in expressing your opinion, but OFTEN people invite you to a drama where you may have a STRONG opposing viewpoint and there really are two choices:

Engage and let the fighting begin
Bite your tongue and let it go

The SECOND strategy can add more positivity to the world, spread some love, being peaceful rather than from YOUR perspective being right. Right can be a matter of OPINION on many topics in life you know.

Pick and choose your biting your tongue moments MORE in the new year, and more love will be spread around.

Hello Gary. I opt for choice #3 and state my opinion in a respectful way in a peaceful tone -- choosing to try to converse and discuss, rather than argue (although others often don't seem capable of using that same self control). I am one who has so much trouble 'biting my tongue' although I did it two days ago and it took all of my restraint to do so.

Hi Gary - You're right, of course. I've got some impressive bite scars on my tongue - as we have become less civil and more contentiou as a society, our opportunities to engage in constructive discourse have diminished greatly. There little sense in arguing for the sake of arguing, particularly when we can look beyond the immediate issue and see the innate good in our neighbors and friends (even when they're 100% wrong). Gary agreed. When people go a bit wonkers I simply don't react or get emotionally charged anymore. They're trying to be heard and just haven't figured out a good way to really make that happen ......yet. There is hope if we keep love in mind:)
