We have been having some exceptionally cold weather in Connecticut so far this winter. It has been putting a strain on heating systems and I don't think my furnace has shut off more than a couple of minutes at any time so far this January. So it was of a concern for me when I thought the furnace was straining to fire and even mis-firing as well. Time to call the oil company to get it looked at so I wouldn't be waking up in the middle of the night with an exceptionally cold nose.

This time, there was just a lot of sludge in the lines and the fuel filter and strainers were getting clogged. A flush out of the lines and a full burner check while here and I was back to 100% operating efficiency.
