Exterior lighting installations are sometimes an overlooked issue we come across. Most of the issues are poor/sloppy installations. So as a personal gesture (replaced my own exterior lights), here is an example of the right way to install an exterior light fixture. And for some whiskey tango foxtrot, some examples of the wrong way to install exterior lighting... FYI: a few were in brand new homes.
**I've noticed homes that have vinyl siding installed, the contractors go right over the old wood siding and don't compensate for the increase in depth. So when the light fixtures are installed, they just screw it to the siding.
