The old steamer trunks make great coffee tables, and you can store any number of items in them. The judicious use of color, lighting, mirrors, and such can give the illusion of more space also.
Kitchens can be tricky, especially if you cook a lot. Wall racks and ceiling hooks are popular ways to augment your cabinet space.
