Parents should be the ones talking to their adult children about this. What preparations they've made can put less stress on their children during an anxiety laden time.

Ron- Larry and I have been very fortunate in that our mothers made arrangements so that we did not have to.  Yes, it's a tough decision and discussion to have. Thank you for these resources. 

Ron...having this done and even paid for helps the family in the grieving process.  Also, if you need county help in the future, this can not be taken away from you to pay for your care.

I don't get to see my parents very often Ron but when I do, I just want to enjoy their presence.. That means I'm not having the talk with them that I know I must have. I just can't stand the thought of losing my parents.

On another note, I saw this idea that you (or better your ashes) can grow into a tree. I like that.

My husband and I have our living wills done. I think it is so important. When my brother-in-law died recently...it was easy for my sister since everything was already in place.

You are absolutely right and I know we need to have this conversation but like most I am putting it off.  

As a Veteran, mine is covered but I still have to let them know my new bride's info so she will be the beneficiary once the time comes.

Good morning Ron. A very important subject and you are right about preparing. I also agree with Sharon: great phrase.

This is a very important conversation to have with anyone that is in your family, Ron. 

We have had the conversations.....nothing ever comes of it to my knowledge.

Ron, Death is never easy toi talk about or experience. I had to go through it with my parents and Yolanda's mom. None of those 3 did any preparation. Having things planned in advance certainly makes it easier on the surviving  relatives.
