Fail Your Way To Success

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Failure RateI don't believe as you might learn in those seminars there is ONE formula, or secret formula to success. First off, you need to define what success is or means to you, in business, in your personal life. Second, I believe there are bits and pieces to success. And one idea I heard recently I think we can all incorporate tomorrow.

For success, double your rate of failure.

Failure is all about doing things. Action but it doesn't work.

Don't keep doing what doesn't work, over and over, that is insanity.

Learn from the failure. The lesson. But get back up on that horse and fail some more. TWICE your normal rate in a day, in a week.

Thomas Edison did this religiously in searching out a filament for a lightbulb, ultimately Tungsten, that would not burn up in five minutes.

Network more, explore new ideas, try different things, talk to LOTS of people. Fail, fail, fail and ultimately you will astound yourself with the level of success you achieve.

Very nice Gary.  If at first you don't succeed - try - try again.  You are so right about contuning to do something.  We need to keep trying or we will never succeed.

Babe Ruth struck out far more than his 300 homeruns, if I recall the number correctly. Practice, fail, keep practicing, fail some more and learn so that you don't keep repeating, as you make your way up the mountain!

Hi Gary,  Belinda Spillman and  Sharon Lee said exactly what came into my mind in reading your post.  "Practice makes perfect" is another saying that I frequently heard as a child.

Gary - So many people are afraid to fail that they are frozen and would rather not do anything. Your advice of trying different things until something works is a fantastic way to figure out a road to success. Excellent advice!

Hi Gary!
This is great!  I grew up in a household that tried to protect me from failure.  Then I had a teacher who wasn't afraid to tell me that what I was doing wasn't working - try again. I found out that failure forced me to do better.  Thanks for a great post!

Great Gary, no progress is ever made by those who are afraid to fail a few time along the way to success.

Good point, Gary. We shouldn't be afraid of failure - it can be a stepping stone, not a road  block.

Great way to frame this Gary Woltal  and I can so relate! I had a boss several years ago that let me off the coporate leash... He said, "If you're not F'n up, you're not doing anything." I took it to heart cuz I got what he meant. Things don't always go like you thought even with good intention. Yet I know you already get this so I'm preaching to the choir... Point so well taken and a great read. I like the phraze, "fail your way to the top! "
