Longwood, FLorida is my town!
I moved to Longwood in the Spring of 1991. Longwood is situated in Seminole County, has about 16,000 sleeping residents and 93,000 day time residents. Longwood is 5.6 square miles in size. Longwood is a short commute to the Atlantic Beaches and Downtown Orlando!
Longwood has it's own police, fire and rescue squads, a major hospital, and is home to many businesses. Central Floridas new SunRail commuter rail stops in Longwood.
In 1990, part of Longwood was accepted in the National Historic Registry. Thirty seven buildings were names. You can read about it by clicking this link. Walking Tour of Historic Longwood Brochure.
SunRail came our way last Spring. Commuter rail is new to Central Florida. The trains currently run 32 miles from DeBary to Sand Lake Rd, spread across three counties.
